fashion baby

from cocoperez...perez hilton's fashion branch of his site. I know, I know, the man has an empire. But you know what, he also sometimes has pink hair and he ALWAYS gives me immediate deets on miley cyrus plus a healthy dose of criticism in the captions, so I really can't deny his place in my life. But anyway:

Looks like a new hipster trend is on the rise!

Vision Express, a chain of opticians across the pond, has begun selling monocles after many of their customers, mostly young men, began special requesting the single lenses.

The pieces, which run at £50, or roughly $81, come with a metal frame, a pouch, and a string from which it may dangle.

Vision Express CEO Bryan Magrath says, "To our surprise we’ve had dozens of requests from customers in the last few months, so we thought we’d bring back the monocle on a trial basis. We’re as puzzled as anyone by the interest, but we’re a responsive retailer and we are delivering. I guess it’s one of those inexplicable fashion things.”

Initially, the monocles will sell only in London, but if they sell well, the retailer will expand distribution to its other locations.

The only person who we've seen rocking the monocle in the past hundred years is Mr. Peanut.

It seems kind of inconvenient and uncomfortable.

Would you rock the old-fashioned eyewear?
